Lateral Cephalometric Radiograph (Lat Ceph)

Panoramic Radiography (OPG)

OPG is a diagnostic tool that is used by dentists, oral surgeons and ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialists in everyday practice. It is a painless, fast and easy dental x-ray that produces a two-dimensional (2-D) image of the whole mouth including the teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding structures and tissues.

It covers a wider area than a conventional x-ray and is a valuable diagnostic and treatment planning too used to:

  • Assess the nasal area
  • Examine the maxillary sinuses
  • Confirm tooth positioning
  • Identify gum and bone irregularities
  • Diagnose advanced periodontal disease
  • Diagnose the presence of oral cysts
  • Identify the presence of tumors and oral cancer
  • Highlight impacted teeth
  • Diagnose temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)
  • Determine treatment for sinusitis

Dental Cone Beam CT Scan

The use of dental cone beam CT scan has become an established method of capturing high-resolution images of the upper and lower jaws where regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. It generates a three dimensional (3-D) image of the dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone of the face and head.

At The Northbrook Clinic, the CT scan is used to facilitate a more accurate treatment plan in certain treatment protocols, including:

  • Diagnosing temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)
  • Evaluation of the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals and nasal cavity
  • Detecting, measuring and treating jaw tumors
  • Surgical planning for impacted teeth
  • Accurate placement of dental implants
  • Determining bone structure and tooth orientation

By appointment only:
Patients must email a referral letter in advance or present a referral letter from their dentist or general practitioner at the appointment.
Cost: €150 each
